P251: Using clickers in the flipped chemistry classroom

Matt Morgan (Hamline University, USA)

Student response devices, or clickers, have long been known to improve student learning in the traditional lecture setting.  However, clickers are equally beneficial when used in a “flipped” classroom. Many instructors are beginning to flip their learning environment by encouraging students to absorb content at home and utilize class time for problem solving.  During this presentation you will discover effective techniques for implementing clickers in the flipped classroom including best practices and student data supporting the continued usefulness of clickers.
