P4: Problem solving and team work in physical chemistry laboratory classes - WITHDRAWN

Joanne Elliott (University of Reading, UK)

Laboratory activities that require problem solving and that incorporate elements of both independent work and team work are highly desirable. The development of such activities in the context of physical chemistry and the impact such activities can have upon student engagement will be discussed. Physical chemistry has a high mathematical content, and the role such activities can play in the development of a broad range of generic skills, in addition to practical and mathematical skills, will also be discussed.
