P583: I can teach chemistry to a brick but what do I do when I encounter a class of bricks?

After 45 years in the classroom, I would like to share some experiences on how I handled a class that could not or would not learn some of the fundamental concepts crucial to succeeding in a first year course.  Topics include chemical nomenclature and stoichiometry.  The presentation will discuss rational for the approaches taken and copies of handouts given to the students.
