P902: Contributing to crowdsourced chemistry online - WITHDRAWN

Antony Williams (Royal Society of Chemistry, USA)

The web has provided us tools which allow us to expose our data, experiences and skills online via blogs, wikis and other crowdsourcing venues. As a result it is possible for scientists to contribute to the community while developing a social profile as a scientist. This is possible for not only for established scientists but also for scientists early in their career who wish to develop their communication and engagement skills with an audience as well as to participate in the multitude of crowdsourcing opportunities that call for their participation. This presentation will provide an overview of some of the online sites where students can crowdsource contribute their data, knowledge and understanding of chemistry and suggest approaches that young chemists can take to participate in the growing social network for chemists.
