P957: Not two-cycle, just rearranged

Daniel Berger

For institutional reasons, we are not able to offer a true two-cycle organic chemistry sequence; representative examples of the two-cycle curriculum will be discussed briefly. Our approach to the problem of a significant number of students taking only one semester of organic chemistry is to rearrange the material from the standard order in U.S. textbooks. The order and method of presenting the material will be discussed, as well as the topic requirements of typical follow-on courses.
