Clicker (or personal response devices) use continues to grow in popularity as a pedagogical tool. Some faculty have now used these devices for many years, enabling them to gain more experience and become more comfortable with the technology. Consequently, these devices are now being used in more creative ways, both in the classroom and as a research tool. Examples include variations of question types, using cell phones and/or websites to enable text responses, and using clickers to collect data about student classroom behavior. Presentations are requested that describe uses of clickers beyond the traditional multiple choice questions that test student understanding of material. Presenters are encouraged to provide data that support the effectiveness of the implementation. Presentations are welcome to describe clicker use in all courses, including large enrollment, introductory level courses and small enrollment, upper (and lower) level courses.
