W2: Using Facebook as a Communication and Collaboration Tool for Students in High School Chemistry

Currently, educators are dealing with students from the Internet/Millennial generation. These students have grown up with technology in their hands. Educators are dealing with the lack of student engagement in the classroom setting due to their smaller attention spans. To combat this issue, educators can utilize Facebook for their chemistry classroom to engage students in discussions about certain topics from class, develop an Events calendar to post information like due dates for assignments and future dates for exams, and post helpful links for homework assignments. By utilizing this technology, students may increase their grades in chemistry and become more engaged in activities; 3-hour session.
