W9: NMR teaching techniques across the undergraduate curriculum

Teaching NMR principles and NMR applications should vary depending upon the level of students’ experience and track. In this workshop we wish to present several experiments and/or pedagogical approaches within the guided inquiry approach.  The methods being taught are applied for non-majors, biochemistry majors and chemistry majors and how NMR can be a hands-on learning opportunity. Lessons to be presented include the determination of sodium content in food for non-majors, enzyme kinetics for biochemistry students, and the fundamentals of two-dimensional spectroscopy for advanced chemistry majors; 3-hour session.
